Construction Begins on Riverview Elementary School Expansion
Cleveland Construction, Inc. joined Riverside Local Schools for a celebratory groundbreaking to mark the official start of construction for a two-story, 11,000 square-foot classroom addition at Riverview Elementary School in Painesville, Ohio. The ceremony took place on Friday, May 30th and marked the beginning of a project that will increase classroom space and support the district’s growing enrollment.
Cleveland Construction is serving as the Construction Manager at-Risk for this project, overseeing all construction activities from planning through completion.
The addition will be connected to the existing classroom wing and include eight new classrooms, two small group gathering spaces, and a mechanical closet. The structure will feature load-bearing masonry walls, hollowcore precast planks for the second floor, and a roof system with steel joists and metal decking. The exterior will blend brick and metal panels to match the existing school, with a TPO membrane roof for durability and weather protection.
In addition to the Riverview project, Cleveland Construction also celebrated the groundbreaking of Riverside’s new Career Technical Education (CTE) addition, which is starting construction at the same time. This addition will help the district expand its facilities and add a new curriculum for students.
